Matures in 80-100 days as a dry bean. May need some support as the bush can grow to 3 feet. Originally grown by the Hidatsa tribe in the Missouri River Valley of North Dakota and thought to be collected by Lewis and Clark. Introduced commercially in 1915. The Hidatsa Red is prolific and similar in looks and taste to a smaller red kidney bean. 50 seeds.
