Small black bean also known as the Vigna Mungo, Black Gram, Urd Bean, Black Matpe and Black Mung Bean. It has a lot of names but ohso difficult to locate the seeds. Used extensively throughout India to make dal and other dishes. Young seedpods and seeds are used like a vegetable and dried mature seeds are split or ground into flour.The leaves are also edible. Also used as a medicinal and as a substitute for soap! Great nitrogen fixer, as are most all legumes. 100+ seeds.
